Elevate Dance & Activewear offers pointe shoe sewing services for the convenience of our customers. While we strongly encourage dancers to learn how to sew their own pointe shoes, as this is an important skill and part of their dance education, we understand that some customers may prefer assistance. For this reason, we offer professional pointe shoe sewing for an additional fee, following our established sewing options and policies.

To ensure consistency, efficiency, and the safety of our sewing equipment, we offer the following options for pointe shoe sewing. Please review these guidelines before requesting our sewing service.

Sewing Fees

• $20 – Standard Sewing: C-Strap elastics and satin or stretch ribbons (sewn in standard way).

• $30 – Specialty Sewing: Criss-cross elastics and satin or stretch ribbons (option to sew in infinity band).
  

Elastic Options

Option 1: "C" Strap

• One elastic strap per shoe.

• Sewn at the heel of each shoe.

Option 2: Criss-Cross Elastics ($30 fee applies)

• Two elastic straps per shoe, forming an "X" across the ankle.

• Sewn at the heel and near the mid-seam of each shoe.
  

Ribbon Options

Option 1: Satin or Stretch Ribbons (sewn in standard way)

• One ribbon sewn on each side of each shoe.

• Attached near the mid-seam at a slight angle toward the back of the ankle.

Option 2: Infinity Band ($30 fee applies)

• Stretch ribbon sewn into a continuous loop and attached near the mid-seam of each side of each shoe.

• Customers must have the ribbon length measured and marked by Elevate or provide their desired measurements.

Measuring & Marking

• Elevate can measure and mark the appropriate placement and length of elastics and ribbons with the dancer in person. 

• Customers may also provide their preferred measurements of their elastics and ribbons (only needed for infinity bands).

• We will not use previously sewn pointe shoes as a reference for measuring or placement. Each new pair must be measured and marked separately.

• Elastics and ribbons are sewn straight across at their attachment points.

Important Sewing Policies

• Turnaround Time: Please allow one week for pointe shoe sewing services. Customers should plan accordingly to ensure their shoes are ready when needed.

• No removal of existing sewing: We will not accept pointe shoes with elastics or ribbons already attached that require us to unpick or remove stitching.

• No special requests: We offer only the sewing options listed above. We cannot accommodate custom sewing methods, placements, or alterations.

• Machine sewing only: All elastics and ribbons are attached using a sewing machine. These guidelines are in place to protect our equipment, ensure consistent results, and allow us to complete sewing services efficiently.
